How I solved it
I counted the vowels before I looked for a single word
Seven letters, and only U, A and E carry sound. That leaves four consonants — L, N, D, H — sharing three vowels, one of which is the centre letter you're forced to use every single time. A hive that lopsided almost never hides its pangram inside one long root word. There simply aren't enough vowels to hold nine letters together on their own.
That told me the pangram would be built, not found: a short root wearing a prefix and a suffix.
The centre letter told me which prefix
U is an awkward letter to build a word around. It's a superb letter to start one — and when U is the centre letter and there's an N sitting in the outer ring, one prefix outranks every other option in the game:
UN–That single move shrinks the puzzle. I was no longer hunting a nine-letter word from seven letters. I was hunting a short verb from five: L, H, A, D, E.
The verbs fell out fast
HANDLE came first — six letters, all from the pool. Bolt on the prefix and a past-tense ending and you get UNHANDLED. Nine letters, all seven present. Pangram.
Still inside UN– territory, I ran the participles the way you'd run scales: unlearned, unheated, unhealed. HEAL → HEALED → UNHEALED. Eight letters, all seven present. Second pangram, same door.

What to carry into tomorrow
- Count vowels first. Three vowels against four consonants means the pangram is assembled from parts, not discovered whole.
- U in the centre is a prefix signal. With an N available, UN– is the highest-yield opening move in the game.
- Solve the smaller puzzle. Committing to a prefix turned a seven-letter hunt into a five-letter one.
- Work the family, not the word. HEAL → HEALED → UNHEALED. Roots travel in packs; once you find one, walk it through its tenses.
- Double pangrams cluster. When two pangrams share a hive, they usually share a construction. Find one and the second is rarely far behind.
