Today's Spelling Bee Answers

NOTCHED Is the Perfect Pangram!

Today's Spelling Bee puzzle has a particularly satisfying highlight: NOTCHED is the perfect pangram. With C as the center letter and E, D, H, N, O and T surrounding it, today's puzzle offers a surprisingly rich collection of words.

Today's Letter Set
NOTCHED

Every answer must contain the center letter C and can use only the seven available letters.

C E D H N O T

How I Solved Today's Spelling Bee

I started with the center letter C, since every valid answer must contain C. From there, I looked for common combinations involving the surrounding letters, particularly patterns such as CO CON COD COT CE CH and CT.

1

Start With C

Since C is mandatory, I used it as the starting point and searched for common word patterns around it.

2

Explore CO- Words

The CO- combination immediately opened up many possibilities such as Code, Cone, Coot, Coho, Cote and Coed.

3

Look for CON-

The CON- pattern proved especially productive, leading to several longer answers.

4

Repeat Letters

Remember that letters can be used more than once. This unlocks words such as Cocoon, Cotton, Conned, Echoed and Decoded.

Code Cone Coot Coho Cote Coed

Another useful strategy was to look for longer words that could be formed by extending familiar combinations. The CON- pattern, for example, leads to answers such as Conch, Condo, Coned, Concede, Condone, Connect, Connote and Content.

The Perfect Pangram: NOTCHED

The standout word today is NOTCHED. A perfect pangram in Spelling Bee uses every available letter exactly once.

NOTCHED
N  •  O  •  T  •  C  •  H  •  E  •  D
Why is NOTCHED special?

Today's seven available letters are C, D, E, H, N, O, T, and NOTCHED contains every one of them exactly once — with no repeated letter.

That makes NOTCHED a perfect pangram and one of the most satisfying finds in today's puzzle. If you're hunting for the perfect pangram first, checking whether a seven-letter word can use each of the available letters exactly once is a useful strategy.

Finding the Longer Words

After finding the shorter answers, I worked upward by extending familiar roots and combinations. This revealed a strong collection of six-, seven-, and eight-letter words.

Encode → Encoded Decode → Decoded Connect → Connected Concede → Conceded

The repeated-letter flexibility also makes some of the longest answers possible, including Cocooned, Concocted, Condoned, Connected and Cottoned.

With the combination of common prefixes, repeated letters, and the mandatory C, today's puzzle rewards systematic searching rather than simply guessing random combinations.

Final Thoughts

Today's puzzle is a great example of how a small set of letters can produce a surprisingly large vocabulary. The key is to start with C, identify productive patterns such as CO- and CON-, and remember that letters can be repeated.

But the real highlight is undoubtedly NOTCHED — today's perfect pangram, using all seven available letters exactly once.

If you found NOTCHED early, you had already uncovered the puzzle's most elegant answer. From there, systematically exploring word families and repeated-letter combinations makes the rest of today's word list much easier to complete.
